Chrissie Cleary is best known for her large-scale machine-stitch Installations, the physical process of making an important element of her broad practice. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and Media (Object) in 2014, Cleary enjoys ‘playing’ with diverse materials, finding beauty in the everyday. Cleary says “Tactility, presence and engagement are qualities I seek in my work, perhaps leading to a insightful conversation with the viewer.” She is currently exploring handwritten word and vintage thread for an upcoming exhibition.
